Keynote Address - Mike Hand, P.E., RTC of Southern Nevada
Funding Transportation in Southern Nevada: Past, Present and Future

Mike Hand, P.E., joined the RTC of Southern Nevada in August, 2007.  He is their Director of Engineering Services for Streets & Highways, where he administers the Question 10 Sales Tax, Motor Vehicle Fuel Tax, and Fuel Revenue Indexing Capital Improvement Programs for RTC's member entities. Mike also serves as the Deputy Project Manager on the RTC’s Interstate 11 Boulder City Bypass Phase 2 Design Build project, a 12 ½ -mile long, 4-lane controlled access freeway project that began construction on April 20 and will be complete in October, 2018. Prior to joining the RTC, Mike managed the design of roadway and flood control projects for Clark County Public Works for 16 years, including 28 projects on the Bruce Woodbury Beltway.  Mike is a graduate of the University of Arizona with a Bachelor of Science in Geological Engineering.

Kick-off Luncheon Address - Rick Gunn, Soulcycler

Rick Gunn is an award winning photographer, writer, adventurer and public speaker based out of South Lake Tahoe, California. In the last 20 years his work has appeared in countless books, websites and publications including, People, Wend, Adventure Sports Journal, Adventure Cyclist, USA Today and The New York Times. In 2005, Gunn quit his 14-year career as a daily newspaper photographer and rode his bicycle 26,000-miles through 33 countries, over three years. Since his return in 2008, he has toured with a multimedia presentation about the journey entitled “Soulcycler,” while working on a book by the same name. Gunn has recently cycled in Oman, and The Islamic Republic of Iran to enact the “The Wheels of Peace Project,”  in which he  exchanged letters and artwork between the children of America and the children of Iran.
